Broadway Features
Our Broadway profiles highlight performers who share honestly about what it takes to lead their life well, onstage and off.
#FFB: Stephen Carrasco
Guys, if we gave BE Way Awards on FFB, Stephen Carrasco would get Best Personality, Most Funny, Sweetest Spirit, Most Likely to Make You Feel Amazing, and after our photoshoot together, absolutely Best Partner in Crime for a Selfie. You get it... He's amazing and my love for him runs deep.
#FFB Broadway Couple: Nicholas Belton & Alicia Monica
You guys... let it be known that few things make me happier than a Broadway couple. #BwayLove #YES And it doesn't get any cuter or healthier in love than these two! I've been lucky enough to break bread and share stories with these sweet souls on a few occasions (most notably, an epic harvest dinner and the FFB podcast, featuring Nick and his passion for food). They are currently covering the Russian territories on Broadway in The Great Comet and Anastasia.
#FFB: Kathryn Boswell
You know when the universe helps you collide with people who vibe on your exact wavelength... well, that happened with Kathryn. I feel so grateful for the FFB interviews that have turned into amazing bonds of friendship and definitely felt the seed planted when I first met Kathryn. She's a serious sunbeam and sharing with an open heart today about her journey to Broadway.
#FFB: Graham Scott Fleming
Ok, you guys.. I have a slight...*MAJOR* obsession with this guy. Graham is as sweet as they come and every time I'm around him, it's an absolute giggle fest. I interviewed him on Instastories for his feature and asked how he stays Fit for Broadway and his response... "Pizza!" followed by lots of laughter, if that's an indication of his silliness.
#FFB: Mauricio Martínez
The first time I saw On Your Feet! I knew there was a certain magic they had harnessed. It was radiating from everyone who graced the Marquis stage. I'm so grateful to feature another member of their evolving cast, Mauricio, who is one of the most warm, positive people I've met on Broadway.
#FFB: Angelo Soriano
Angelo is such a light! I connected with Angelo through FFB Book Club Chief, Ahren and I knew, as a swing, Angelo would have a wealth of knowledge about lifestyle tidbits to stay sharp and ready for anything in Agrabah and NYC. I also love how much he values community and the Broadway backstage bonds; one of the most significant components of maintaining a lifestyle FIT FOR BROADWAY!
#FFB: Derek Klena
Derek's build and attitude reads equally young professional athlete and leading man. Which makes sense after all, considering we've deemed Broadway the olympics of musical theatre; not short of the blood, sweat and tears we see in professional sports. Derek gets it and is making his mark. If I could pinpoint every quantity you could possibly possess to be a successful, magnetic leading man on Broadway, Derek would hit the bull's eye.
#FFB: Jessica Vosk
So I've officially only spent a good 45 minutes with Jessica and I can honestly say I'd rank her in my top favorite humans.
BC/EFA: BROADWAY BARES 2017
Today, we're featuring the guys from "Psych Major" in this year's Stripathon for Broadway Bares, benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Click any picture in this post to donate to Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS today. The guys stripped down and wore the Fit for Broadway signature design and snagged donations on the Highline!
#FFB: Alex Gibson
First, let me confess before I had even met Alex, I'd seen him 4 times in The Great Comet #CometSuperFan. He's electric on stage, in real life, and in this interview. His advice soars above "eat your greens and exercise" and shares a level of honesty about what it really takes to tackle this job day in and day out. Also, let's note, he's maybe one of the happiest people I've ever met.
#FFB: Kristolyn Lloyd
The first time I met Kristolyn, we were partnered in a fitness circuit class and she inspired me right away. She was determined and focused and pushed me the entire workout (probably without even knowing it!). After seeing Dear Evan Hansen, I knew she'd be able to offer advice not just about being physically ready for 8 shows a week, but what it takes mind, body, and spirit- basically what it takes to know "You are Enough".
#FFB: Adam Hyndman
Adam is one of my favorite people in New York so today is seriously such a treat to have him on FFB! I remember the day I went into Core Rhythm Fitness (which is how Adam and I first met!) and being told he was in final callbacks for Aladdin!! Witnessing Adam follow his dream, his heart, and his passions over the last year has been incredible... one of the most influential examples that has crossed my path.
#FFB: Nicholas Belton
Nicholas is hitting all the marks today! He's part of my favorite Broadway show, The Great Comet, he's a fellow #BroadwayBlogBuddy AND he's serving up a serious dose of great advice for aspiring performers! SUNDAY THEORY, by Nicholas and his lady love, Alicia, is a gorgeous food blog and "a journey delving into the basic principles of feeding our bodies right, keeping mindful that the food we eat is medicine and the products we use as clean and natural to the earth as possible." **APPLAUSE**
#FFB: Christiani Pitts
I'm so grateful when I meet amazing people through FFB who feel like they've been my friends all along. We just click with immediate giggles and good vibes; which is exactly what happened when I met Christiani. You can literally see in her photos how she embodies so much positivity, fierceness and fun. I walked away from our photoshoot thinking yep, THAT is the kind of example I want to be and friend I'd want to have in our wild world of Broadway!
#FFB: Kenneth Michael Murray
Kenneth is the sweetest human ever, seriously one of the most kind hearted souls in NYC. We hit it off immediately and I fell in love with his story of persistence and determination that led him to The Great White Way. We also share a mutual love for PILATES, the ultimate Broadway core workout! Whether he's talking about his workout regime or living the "audition audition audition" lifestyle, Kenneth exudes positive energy; the quintessential ingredient for living FIT FOR BROADWAY!
#FFB: Josh Canfield
I reached out to Josh because I knew he'd have amazing fitness and health insight but I was excited to be able to share his journey to Broadway, one of the most unique I've heard!
#FFB Nicholas Cunningham Part 2: "Practice what you preach."
Nicholas' spirit moved me from the minute I met him and every encounter since, even from afar. I have always admired his strength in every way you could define strength.
#FFB: James Brown III
I've been inspired by James both as an actor and a creative since I first came across his work with Broadway Style Guide. He is living the FFB Lifestyle through and through, leading a life of strength from the inside out!
#FFB: Benton Whitley | Advice from a Casting Director being Fit For Broadway
Benton and I first met over coffee and our chat was a healthy reminder of various assumptions made about the people sitting on the other side of the audition table.
#FFB: Bradley Gibson
His entire approach to fitness, health & Broadway emphasizes the balance of mind, body, & spirit. Bradley reminded me that sometimes the simple practice of taking the time to be present is the best way to be Fit for Broadway!
